Notification of cosmetic products is mandatory for all cosmetic products intended for consumption or use in the territory of the Republic of Lithuania and the European Union. The provisions of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on cosmetic products, adopted in 2009, are applicable in the EU Member States from 11 July 2013. The Regulation establishes a common notification procedure for cosmetic products throughout Europe. Prior to placing cosmetic products on the market, notification is required in accordance with the provisions of Article 13 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
